This full-day tour takes you to the heart of the Douro Valley, the oldest Demarcated Wine Region in the world, combining culture, landscapes and authentic regional flavours.
The experience begins with a visit to Amarante, a historic town rich in heritage. Explore the old town and visit the Church and Cloister of São Gonçalo, classified as a National Monument since 1910. You will also have the opportunity to discover the town’s traditional conventual sweets.
Continuing towards the Douro Valley, the scenery gradually changes into vineyard-covered hills shaped by centuries of winemaking. During the day, you will visit a traditional winery to learn about the history of Port and Douro wines, followed by a wine tasting.
A traditional lunch is served in a peaceful setting surrounded by the unique Douro landscape. In the heart of the valley, near Pinhão, enjoy a relaxing 1-hour river cruise along the Douro River, offering a different perspective over the terraced vineyards.
The return journey to Porto is made along the iconic N222 road, considered one of the most beautiful roads in the world, with breathtaking views along approximately 27 km. A complete and unforgettable experience in one of Portugal’s most emblematic regions.
