Walk along the stunning Paiva Walkways, famous for their zigzag staircases and panoramic viewpoints, where you can admire waterfalls and the cliffs of the gorge. The route connects the river beaches of Areinho and Espiunca, passing through Vau Beach, where you can stop and regain your energy.
Along the trail, immerse yourself in the natural beauty as well as the geology, biology and archaeology of the region. During the walk, you will pass several geosites, including the Paiva Gorge, Aguieiras Waterfall, Vau River Beach, Gola do Salto and the Espiunca Fault.
At the end of the route, at Espiunca Beach, you can relax and enjoy lunch in a leisure area by the crystal-clear waters of the Paiva River. Before returning to Porto, there will be a stop in Arouca to taste the region’s traditional convent sweets.

Itinerary
- 08:30 – Departure from Porto
- 09:30 – Arrival at Areinho Beach and start of the 8 km walk along the Paiva Walkways
- 13:30 – Arrival at Espiunca Beach and lunch at the Beach Bar
- 15:30 – Stop in Arouca to taste traditional convent sweets
- 18:00 – Return to Porto
